I think I'm tired.

We have been testing all week long. Approximately two hours per morning. I root so hard for my low kids to do well. You put so much energy into helping these kids all year long. They have worked soooooo hard. Then test
week comes and some of them want to do so well. This lady has been there when we've been preparing for this test. She knows how hard we've been working. She knows how hard our entire school works to create the best testing environment possible. We even do "dry run" practice days just to check our testing areas. I can't believe she pulled out her laptop!!!!! I'm getting madder and

madder just thinking about it. Her typing was very distracting to about six of my kids who were closest to her. Three of them had a clear shot of her screen. One boy who is distracted by his own breathing could not take his eyes off of her computer. I have to wonder if she did this just to pi$$ me off. Maybe she thought I wouldn't say anything to her. Wrong. She wasn't just hurting me. She's messing with my kids. I swooped down on her for that. However, she did get her laptop back out before lunch while I was reading to the children. I would walk back to where she was sitting, and she would turn it toward the wall so I couldn't see what she was doing, as usual.

She asked me if I wanted her to go ahead and start working on her lesson plans for week after next. I told her that I didn't think I would. I told her that I would wait at least a day or two into next week to see how quickly they are picking up on the lessons and then decide if she needed to go on or spend more time on those topics. I told her that if she went ahead and worked on them now, it could turn out to be wasted energy if she ended up needing to redo them all. Sometimes they get stuff quickly. Other times, not so much. I thought that was nice of me to tell her that.

I did ask her if she had any questions about next week or if she needed any other books that I might have. She said she didn't.

Thanks for the kind words. They really are lifting my spirits right now. I can't imagine not being able to spew on here every evening. Only other teachers can truly understand. Thanks.
