Clip to ScrapBook
I use portfolios in my classroom so I have a collection of work to show parents at grading time. Our portfolios includes writing samples, cutting & glueing samples, following directions papers, & other kdg skills I grade
on. I'm not sure if that's the formal use of a portfolio but mine are great to bring out at conference time to show areas of improvement & also the work behind why some grades were given.

I take the tests (tests come with our reading & math programs and I have to use teacher-made ones for other subjects such as science & global studies) & assess what specific things need more
time on. If a small group is struggling with something, I'll have my assistant pull them for review work. If it's everyone, we'll redo lessons as needed. For our reading program, the tests are used to show which areas need to be revisited & it'll tell you what lesson to go back to & what specifically to review from each lesson.
