That's my favorite part of my job. The cute things my ducklings say.

A few years ago I had a VERY low reading group of 3rd graders. It was a small group of 3 boys who were best friends and were the funniest humans I've ever met. They were also the biggest eaters I've ever seen. Always hungry!!! One day it was raining outside and everyone was just cranky and mean. I told the kids to read their lists while I was writing down their fluency scores. One of their words on the list was 'tossed'. All of a sudden, Lionel yells, "Ooh, look Wayne, toast! Needless to say I was laughing so hard I cried!
