(bit of a gripe) We have a Teacher

Appreciation dinner put on by our board. It is a nice catered dinner, but it is served at our school....the place where I spend W-A-Y too much time at already. And while I love my job, come Friday night| I really don't want to be hanging out with everyone at the school for dinner, does that sound awful? I feel rather grumpy about it. We have a LOT of pressure to attend the dinner, literally guilted into it. I think it's crazy that for the board to feel good about "appreciating" us, we have to give up a Friday night. I would rather be appreciated with nice words, a gift certificate to dinner | |
out with my husband....anything besides coming back to the school for a "formal" dinner in the cafeteria!
Wow, I guess I needed to vent about this! We just got the invitation (along with the guilt inducing speech about showing up) yesterday at the staff meeting, so it's still fresh. ;)
