2/3 multi-age By eagertolearn

This is my 2nd year teaching 2/3 multi-age. I had taught 1st for many years and was able to take 1/2 of my first graders to 2nd with me. The hardest part was learning 2 sets of standards I needed to teach the children. I agree the hardest part was how to cover the science and social studies standards. I am lucky that all the 2nd and 3rd are 2/3, so as a grade level, we cover 2nd grade Foss one year and the 3rd the next year. We try to do this for social studies too, but the 3rd grade social studies are much more extensive than 2nd, so we try to integrate during our lit time. I do enjoy looping with the children. I am going to be sooooo sad when I see this group of 3rd graders go as I've had them for 3 years! I think you'll enjoy the experience. Good luck!
