Reading Facilitator
By Sue

Clip to ScrapBook
We have used the DRA in 1st and 2nd the past 5 years. Teachers like it because it gives a good corresponding level to the Fountas and Pinnell level for guided reading. However, the comprehension is subjective for the teacher. It is fairly easy to administer but it is individualized test.

Our district just purchased Fountas and Pinnell assessment. We have not been trained yet so I can't tell you the difference in them yet. I do know F & P has both fiction and non-fiction readings. Our DRA does not have any non-fiction read.
Good Luck
