call him on it
By Blossom

Clip to ScrapBook
Absolutely - call him on it! Lying is wrong - and he needs to understand that even white lies are not ok. How will any one be able to trust him? Like with the hammer head shark story - "Hammerhead sharks live in the ocean, and there is no ocean near by here. Are you sure that is what really happened?" That is a super obvious lie - call him on it!!

Maybe make an effort to ask him first - "How was your night? Did you do anything exciting or was it just a quiet night?" Give him the attention before he seeks it through lies and stories. Keep him focused on reality.

I would also suggest getting serious about conferencing with the father, getting the school counselor involved. He is going to develop a repuation of being unreliable and untrustworthy.
