The Boy Who Cried Wolf
By biyubelle

Clip to ScrapBook
Jen,

Did the father eventually understand that there was no basis for his son's accusations? Did the child see his father's performance in the office? If he did, this will fuel his "storytelling." Can you imagine
what an impact this would have on a child who is craving attention?

I think this goes beyond a classroom issue that a teacher can independently address. I would strongly suggest involving the school counselor or the district psychologist. Also contact your school system social worker. A home visit may be in order.

What you may be able to do in the classroom is to build
a couple of lessons around the story "The Boy Who Cried Wolf." Maybe you can make some real life connections for him.

Good luck.

BTW have you had a formal conference with his father regarding this? It may be in order. I would put it on the record because you may be the target of his next super lie... that could be career busting.
