Clip to ScrapBook
My students are great kids. However, a few of them will do whatever they are allowed to get by with. Those kids have figured out that she rarely tells them no about anything. I've told her to say no more than she says
yes for now. However, like everything else, she ignores me and allows the kids to do as they please. It's as if she's afraid to make one of them not like her because she thinks it will make her look bad. I don't know. They want to go ask her the stuff they know I'll say no to. They are kids. That's what kids do. I have had a talk with the worst offenders, but even the really good
kids are starting to catch on to that flaw she has. I've tried to help her. They are playing her for a sucker, but she thinks they just like her.

She gave one of my kids permission to adjust the overhead projector one morning. A major "No - no" in my classroom and something they have never been allowed to do. The kid snuck/sneaked (whatever) and quietly asked ST so I wouldn't hear. I saw the kid going for the machine and said, "Stop, what are you doing?" ST spoke up and said, "It's okay. I said she could." I looked at the kid and said, "No, it's not okay, and you (the kid) know that. You are playing a little game, but I'm not playing."

I'll be so glad when she is gone. I'm a little nervous about testing tomorrow. She hinted today that she wanted to see a test. I'm afraid she'll get up and roam around. If she does, I'll ask her to sit. I'd just really rather not be put in that situation.

By the way, Volstate, I'm in TN/fourth grade also.
