is right on target (as usual). I didn't mean to imply that I chart every time we have a reading meeting. The charts I have made are mostly ones that will stay up for long periods of time. These were ones that we added to as we learned strategies such as those in RWM. (Mental images are.../Inferences are... for example). When we got to the questioning unit--the charts became more of a focal point as the kids were a more vocal part of the mini-lesson. It was a strategy that I wanted to "see" the questions. We referred back to them over several days as the pictures you see of The Lotus Seed. I agree | | with others here that once we have had our reading meeting and learned a new strategy--the next day I will show the chart with what we have discussed. When we are doing a read-aloud, the reading and SHORT discussions, etc are done in a more relaxed manner.
