Clip to ScrapBook
Until the last week or so she hadn't been around anyone else. She would never leave the room except to go to the bathroom or to lunch. We'd go out, she'd stay in to "record" stuff on her laptop, finish grading her language
papers, make a phone call, etc. Last week, I made it her job to lead the students to all outside of the classroom activities. That got her out of the room. She did take part in a conversation with a couple of the other fourth grade teachers one day and one third grade teacher on another day. Her conversations those days were like her first conversation with me. She made sure they
knew all about her former career, who all she knows on the school board, that type stuff. Besides that, she hasn't really encountered anyone else except the lunch lady but just long enough to hand her her money.
