No, it wouldn't look bad. If anyone thought that, then they are just petty. Those days are there for this very reason! You don't owe anyone an explanation, if it would make you feel better, do it now. The kids will continue to learn while you are gone, and it's not that long. A lot of teachers in my district have hysterectomies, etc. and will be out for 3 weeks or more at a time!
