Clip to ScrapBook
If the read-aloud is a lesson in comprehension, I may write down the predictions, and perhaps revise predictions in the middle. Afterwards we will chart (make graphic organizers) whatever the focus for that particular week is. For example, this week our focus is story structure, so I may have several charts like beginning/middle/end; characters/setting/problem/solution (who/what/where/when, etc.).

I try also to have read-alouds that are just plain fun without having to analyze it. Why do we have to make everything into a lesson? I want my students to know that reading and listening to stories can be great fun.
