Job Fairs By biyubelle

Our school system has an in-house job fair. The job fair enables existing employees to apply for openings in other schools inside the district without having to compete with outside applications. The positions are generally

filled by certification and seniority. Of course, then a domino effect takes place because as teachers transfer into new schools, their old schools now have openings. Generally new hires get these positions. New hires often times don't know until August whether or not they have a job. So if you don't get something immediately always check back with a district you are interested

in working with. They may have some panic or domino vacancies.

(A panic or emergency vacancy is an vacancy that the principal didn't see coming. Sometimes it is a maternity leave or a sudden retirement or an illness. S/he is in a panic to get it covered.)
