they ask if they can contact current administrator.

When I interviewed for the job I have now, I didn't let my principal know. He was retiring and if I didn't get the job, I was going to stay. When I interviewed,
the principal asked me if I wanted him to contact my current principal. I told him I hadn't mentioned to him that I was interviewing. He said he understood. (The principals were next door neighbors!) After I received an offer, I told my principal that I was not returning and where I would be working.

I really loved my old principal, but he was retiring and I wanted to make
a change from inner city urban to a private school. My principal gave me an excellent recommendation, but privately he told me he didn't think I should go. He told me to take a year off, but he thought I was so good with that population and he didn't think I would be happy in an affluent private school.

While I'm not unhappy, I really miss "my babies". Maybe he was right!
