You'll learn so much...
By nilvero

Clip to ScrapBook
I went to an affluent university that was in an affluent school district. I did my student teaching in my home town last year at the affluent elementary school I went to. But now I teach first grade in an amazing inner city school in my home town and I wouldn't change it for a minute. I have learned to get to know my students, and I've realized that kids will be kids no matter where they grew up.

Like a PP said, jobs at private schools are few and far between. As are those jobs at affluent schools. It's completely understandable that you're nervous. But you definitely need to go into your student teaching with a positive attitude because kids will see through it.

Good Luck!
