calling the teacher
By Peg

Clip to ScrapBook
I really don't see a problem with calling the teacher, but honestly, I have never had a substitute call me. I have colleague/friends who have subbed for me before and I have called them in advance to give them all of the nitty gritty details that would help them to have a good day. I guess it would depend, too, on why the teacher is absent. If he or she is very ill or has had a death in the family or some other really stressful thing, they may not want a call. Personally, I would welcome the opportunity if I was up to it. Maybe you could ask at the school if they think that particular teacher would mind.
Whatever the case, don't worry. You'll do fine. Have confidence and be respectful and you will probably have a good day.
