I did this when I was a student teacher with a class of 2nd graders and last year, when I got my own 2nd grade classroom, I couldn't WAIT to do it again! My kids were absolutely thrilled... and these fly better than some real kites I've used!

What I did is actually make marks A B C D on the appropriate spots on a piece of 8.5" x 11" paper and then run copies of it. I have this document at school. We're on spring break right now, but I'll try to remember to scan it in and post next week. This made it easier for my kids to follow... and go slow! But, I didn't end up helping many kids last year and they were so proud of their kites!
