Yes, I have bumped up grades. However, I only do this when it's a close call (within a couple percentage points), and I saw some really great effort. Sometimes I think it could be a big let-down for a kid who worked really hard to still get a lousy grade. Depending on the kid, s/he might just give up. A tiny bump might help keep them motivated.
