Advice

Clip to ScrapBook
I'm the academic director at my school in addition to teaching, so I have the pleasure ( ) of interviewing potential teachers each summer. I have several questions that can make or break the interview. If they
can't answer these questions, I'm not interested in them:

1. What are your strengths and weakness as a teacher? (weakness stump a lot of people, we all know no one is perfect, you need to be aware of where you aren't as stong, BUT, have a plan already in action to remedy that. Put a positive spin on your weakness. For instance, if you can be disorganized from time to time,
explain the method you use to file papers so you can stay on top of things)

2. Describe your classroom management style.

3. How will you incorporate different modalities into your lesson plans so that all children can learn, no matter their learning style.

4. How would you handle a situation in which 2 children were involved in an altercation (either verbal or physical)?

I hope that helps, and I wish you the best!
