Tracking By Funnygirl

is shameful, in my opinion. It certainly does trap kids in a cycle of oppression. Tracking is different from pulling out groups of kids who need to work on certain skills because they are all currently working at a certain level on something. It makes sense to level books for guided reading or to help a small group with fractions if they're struggling with it, or to give extra challenge to kids when they need enrichment. That's one aspect of differentiated instruction.
I don't understand how, with all the research about the harm of tracking, a principal or district can justify doing it. It makes me very angry.
