it doesn't hurt to compromise
By Cathy-Dee

Clip to ScrapBook
At least now the principal is definately aware of the problem and hopefully he will ensure it never happens again.

I think it is smart for you to refuse to sub for that particular teacher and her colleagues (whether or
not they support what she did). And it doesn't hurt to perhaps try the other grades in the school although you might find it hard to face this teacher in the hallways or staff room.

If I was the principal I would find the money to pay you - I can't believe he doesn't have any type of funds he can't use - or pay for it himself if necessary. Does each school have it's own policy and funds

for substitute teachers or is it a division area. I know in my school division funding is controlled by each school but ultimately comes from the district office.

I would make sure they do understand that you are quite upset about this matter and it is only because of good relations in the past that you would consider subbing for them in the future. Make sure they realize that you are doing them a favour by continuing to sub, not the other way around.
