with MrsM. I would do both. Getting the letter actually saves them from having to make numerous calls. Of course, they'll call your references if they have generic questions that weren't in the letters. I just got a new job, and the director of my new school called and asked questions like "How was her attendance", and "did she work well with others?" Things that weren't in the letter. It's also a relief when principals see you have letters, because then they know you're confident and do mind if they make calls. Good luck!
