morning work

We go over it during that subject time. If it's Monday we do a math sheet, so we go over it at the beginning of our math time. If it's Tuesday we do daily language, so we go over it during LA time. On Wed. we do handwriting so I usually check it while they're silent reading (which they do every day after their other morning work). On Thurs. they do journal writing, so I also check it while they're reading. On Fri. they do something fun (word find, crossword puzzle, etc...) so those are never checked.

If they don't finish their morning work, due to goofing off, then they work on it during recess. That rarely happens, though. If they don't finish it due to other reasons (doing a make-up test, for ex.), I don't worry about it.
