I did a research paper on this, if you google Jim Grant you can find some information, he wrote a book on looping.

Here's an article that may get you started, there aren't tons of articles, so your best bet is to check citations to know where to go next. Another place to look is dissertations, there are several doctoral papers on the subject. Best of luck, I would love to try it, more so this year because I have a really good class;)! You might want to check out Bookmuncher's blog, I believe she looped with her class this year.
