landform ideas
By Tatum

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi there,

I did a mini-unit on landforms at the beginning of the year. I got some leveled readers on various landforms and we practiced non fiction reading strategies.

I too had a poster and on the back
was a Geography Picture Dictionary with all the landforms in alphabetical order. I had them draw pix of each one...the definitions were already there. I bought several of the same poster so the kids could use it as reference.

I made a bingo game from the terms on the poster.

As a culminating project..I had the kids bring in salt dough that they made at home. They
made different colors to create all the landforms. I gave them a large piece of cardboard and in cooperative groups I let them go to town making an imaginary continent using the landforms we learned about. I had them write about their continent as well.

Hope this helps.
T.
