I went to the Scholastics warehouse sale a few weeks ago, and boy, was I disappointed. I went early, but even then there was hardly anything worth getting for my first graders. Good thing I didn't have to drive too far, but I hear some grumbling from other teachers who had to drive an hour or more to get there. They did have quite a few books for middle school level.
