Two Ideas
By ConnieWI

Clip to ScrapBook
With fourth and fifth graders, play "Two Truths and a Lie." Each child is given a piece of paper. On it, they write:

My name is ____________.
I sprained my ankle while rollerskating on my fiftieth birthday.
I crashed my car into a police squad car.
I killed a goose with a golf ball.

Collect the paper. Read them aloud. Classmates need to guess which statements are true and which is the lie. Kids love this game!

I am also attaching a "Getting to Know Me" sheet that works well with second and third graders. Students complete the statements. They are collected. The teacher reads one or more of the statements and classmates guess to whom it refers.
