Suggestion for CT's
By apple annie

Clip to ScrapBook
Print off all the posts that Happy Hiker has posted in regard to her ST. Make it into a booklet and tell your ST on the first day that it is required readingfor his/her homework. Title it "A Student Teacher from Hell."
Then have them make a list of at least ten Do's and Don'ts for student teachers.

I had a wonderful CT. The most helpful thing she did with me was the daily journal. It was just a spiral notebook. She got the front pages and I took the backs. She would write notes to welcome me, encourage me, make suggestions, review classroom management strategies, remind me of expectations
or upcoming school events, etc. On the backs of her pages, I wrote questions, reflected on lessons, thanked her, made suggetions for things I wanted to try, bounced ideas, commented on specific students' needs, or just funny things that happened. Every day she wrote something, and I took it home and wrote something every night. It was great because we didn't always have a lot of time during the school day to carry on long conversations, and I looked forward to sitting down with her notes each evening, when I had time to take it all in, and reflect before I responded. At the end of the semester it was a lovely keepsake that I still have to this day.
