This sounds very similar to the dictates of the district I teach in here in SC. I grew up in a union family in Ohio, so not having one, or being able to discuss/join one, has been difficult. As a child, I saw both the many benefits of having a union at your back in difficult circumstances and the consequences of a strike. I would join in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose!
