Clip to ScrapBook
I agree with everyone else on suggestions. You have to cover your self as a teacher because you are responsible for the learning that takes place in your class for everyone. Student is the key word. Just because this student
is several years older than the majority the rules are the same. Just like classes year to year most of your students follow the rules etc. But from time to time you get a student/ST that thinks they don't need to follow the rules. Do you have an observation form that your district uses to observe you? First give her a copy and tell her that you will be making a general observation all
day long on that assessment not just a teaching lesson. If ask why? Then explain you never know who will walk in. I would have my principal come in with CLIPBOARD and all. If you can't trust your Principal get a teacher from another grade level that the ST is not familiar with to CLIPBOARD it. (kinda of a role play thing) If ST has a no care attuidude then you will know where you stand. But the cell phone and laptop must GO! That is distracting to the students as well as not doing her work. It is hard being 2 teachers at one time keep plugging.
Good luck and let us know what happens
