Then why don't you simply refuse the special ed assignments? If you are not certified or trained to manage these behaviors then let the sub caller know when the position is assigned to you. YOU DO HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY NO!!!! Furthermore, I don't think a teacher can leave plans that say show a movie for two days. Let's be realistic--not everyone is cut out for handling special education behaviors. If you know the job is not for you and you know the staff is not going to support you if you take the assignment, then please consider taking a different assignment for the day. If you are frustrated and the student is frustrated--that doesn't make for a happy mix.
