I replied on that one as well- an idea I saw before, but haven't done is selling dog bandanas. There are very simple to make (cute fabric cut into triangles with pinking-sp? shears) and sold for @$1.00 a piece. The kids can make these easily and use math skills (rulers, economics, etc.) People seem more willing to spend money on their pets and you don't feel guilty buying these like I do when I eat two kitkats in one day "for charity".
