transparent rulers
By trexteach

Clip to ScrapBook
You should be able to find the type of transparent rulers you're talking about at your local school supply store; that's where I got mine. They're nice, but they're still a little hard to see even when on the overhead.

I'd purchase them (They not not expensive.) for review and such or small group work, but it may work best for you to make your own enlarged version on transparency sheets when you're first introducing using the ruler. You could use different colored permanent markers to denote 1/16th, 1/8th, 1/4th, etc. When you place one over the other, the colors will stand out.
