This question confuses me

What on earth is the matter with saying darn it? That's so weird, to be bugged by that. Is it also taboo to say "shoot?" I can't imagine that offending anyone.

If they can't say darn it, and I assume they can't
say shoot, what on earth ARE they allowed to say? I suppose "gosh" is out and "golly" too. What about "gee?" We wouldn't want them saying anything to invoke the deity, and maybe "gee" comes from "Jesus."

If you worked in middle school, you would be so happy to hear kids say these things, instead of the truly foul language some of them use. "Darn it" as opposed to the F
word? No contest.

I can't imagine a parent's response to a teacher disliking "darn it." My administration would never support such a silly thing. Yours does? How strange.
