I'm no expert

Clip to ScrapBook
I like to use literature for lots of things. Teaching life skills such as respect, integrity and courage. (Brave Irene, Dr. DeSoto etc) I also use them for math (The Greedy Triangle, Sir Cumferance and the round table etc.) I also use them for writing workshop as mentor texts.

I usually do an interactive read aloud. Read the text, discuss, then brainstorm and then send the kidos to work.

I'm becoming more comfortable with them but like I said I am no expert. I do find that the kids really like it when I use the literature to teach. They are really engaged in the lessons.
