to carolyne, the horrors of middle school

I wish I could get out of middle schools! I am on the list for twenty elementary schools and five highschools. I took a couple days off and went to the local highschools and asked them to put me on their preferred lists. I work for the fifth largest district in the nation! However, I have no such luck. It seems to be either work in the middle schools or don't work. This is my only sourse of income so I do not have a choice. I feel so completely powerless in this situation.We have the automated system here and I am also still sort of new (3 months). People tell me that once the sub-caller realizes that I am dependable, they will offer me the more favorable grades. How do you get recognition from a machine?
