Is teaching horrible?

No, it's not. Like any profession there are good days and bad days. I just became certified and am working as a sub. The last two days I team taught 42 third graders with another sub and we enjoyed ourselves. The students were well behaved and I hope I get called back to that class again. Watching a student catch fire and become excited about learning is a thrill unlike any other. And when you have contact everyday with the same students you are able to form relationships with them. At the primary level, you are THEIR teacher and they get pretty attached. Even subbing, I've had it happen if I am in a classroom for several days. I think teaching is great and I really enjoy it. :o}
