Do you think it could be her age? I think you need to "puff up" in the words of Batty from The Last Rain Forest. You need to let her know that above all, this is YOUR classroom and she has been given the opportunity to be| part of it. If she has a problem with you interjecting in YOUR classroom, then she needs to hit the door. I know, especially as teachers, we don't want to cause waves with student teachers. I had a huge power struggle with an alt cert teacher this year. His issue was that I was younger and female. I had to become "mean" and stand my ground for the students. of Bloody Mary and other horror urban legends to second graders.
Stand your ground, let her know that if she isn't going to behave, she will have to do a ST time-out.
