I agree that people mean "lame/ridiculous" when they say something is gay. I don't think most kids get that what they are saying is that gay=lame.

We would never let kids say "That is so white/black/asian..." and not correct them. I think that kids just need to be taught what it is that they are really saying to get them to understand that it is not appropriate.
