Chalkboard now

I had old chipped cruddy chalkboards for years. Three years ago, they put magnetic white boards in my room. I loved them. Then I moved to another classroom this year, and it has chalkboards again. At least they are magnetic. But I love using the different colored markers on the white board for patterning, word families, etc. I bought a can of stuff at Home Depot that you're supposed to be able to paint on a chalkboard to turn it into a white board. Total waste of money. I tried it on one of my small chalkboard and it dripped and ran.
I'm moving to another classroom next year. I don't know what it will have.
