I love using freecycle.org for anything classroom related. It's totally free, and people love to clean out their kids' bookshelves if you ask for books. I found a teacher who was retiring and she gave me everything for free, just to get it out of her garage. It was amazing. Totally check this out, and send out a request for the books.
