I always put a LOT of assignments on the homework board.

For instance:

5 Math Sheets, Long divsion, Long multiplication, adding and subtracting fractions, finding area, finding perimeter

Read 7
Chapters in Charlotte's Web and fill out a response journal for each chapter

Memorize the 50 states in alphabetical order (song sheet)

Science Book pages 300-320 reading and answering questions on pg 320.

Write a 4 page essay: Which state would you like to live in and why?
Explain using the six traits of good writing. Rubric attached.

The kids' routine
is to copy the homework in their agenda first thing in the morning. Some of them do not say a word adn others ask me if I am serious. I tell them since we have a lot to cover a lot of our work must be given as homework. I let them suffer for a while, then I finally tell them its an April Fool!
