Mastering Math Facts
By Tapnstitch

Clip to ScrapBook
is the name of the program we use. It is from Otter Creek Institute. You can find it online. It covers addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It is not that expensive to purchase. The children spend 2-4 minutes
each day in class practicing the math facts they need to work on, then they take a 1 minute timed test. If they pass their goal they go on to the next set of problems. If not they continue praticing that set of facts until they pass their goal on the 1 minute timing. They take home a practice sheet on the days they do not make their goal on that particular set of facts. They are supposed
to practice for 5 minutes at home. The program allows children to move at their own pace. I have students working on addition, subtraction and multiplication. We do not give any kind of reward, but the excitement of "making my goal" is very motiviating to them. I recommend it highly
