Estimation
By Mrs. G

Clip to ScrapBook
We do estimation activities. We use mason jars, but you could use any see through container. We fill each jar with a different item like, cotton balls, beans, pennies, markers, crayons, m&m's and such. Then we have the students estimate how many items are in each jar. You don't have to fill them all the way up if you are using a large container. Have the students write down their estimations for each as you hold them up and circulate around the room. When that part is done, assign different groups to count the items in the containers. Then go over the actual amounts and see who was the closest. This will take up some time!:)
