I teach a 6th grade classroom and I always leave suggestions for the substitute along with the school-wide discipline procedure and office referral forms. HOWEVER.... I believe that you are the one on the firing line and
that you should use whatever system works for you. I definitely do not get upset with a substitute who cares enough to invest in a discipline system which will help him or her and the students. The only thing I would suggest is that you find a way for your system to work within the particular school's system so that you get called back by that school. For example, my school has a system
where you follow a specific procedure...warn a student, time out the student, send them to the office, etc. At that point parents are notified of the problem. I would say you could follow your system specifics and still follow this type of schoolwide policy somehow.
