I use my own rules too. Ask your students to volunteer what their teachers rules are. then explain that the same rules apply to you. However, give them your rules also. Make sure the consequences are something you can follow through on. Explain to them right off the bat that you will more than likely do some things differently than their regular teacher. You are not there everyday to know the teacher's routine.
