I use my own system if I am going to be in a class for even a day. If I was in for more than that I would definitely use it. But mine is also minor and does not hold any long-term consequences or rewards. + I give candy and extra play time (- or less play time.) I am not familiar with the plan you mentioned. If you put yours in place, try not to eliminate the teacher's system entirely -- because when she comes back she'll need to get the class back on track. Use whatever you need to use at the moment, I think!
