Testing

I am also from Texas. I teach 4th grade and we had our writing test last week. We don't have "pass or fail" in 4th, but the writing test comes so early! It is difficult to teach all of the objectives by the last week of February! I guess the state has to do this because all of the written compositions have to be graded by May. Our math and reading are at the end of April. So, I can relax for a day or so.....................then it is off to make sure my kiddos are ready for reading TAKS!
