I like your idea

The idea between transitions is a good one but make the music something you enjoy. I used the song, I'm a believer before math class because the students were struggling. It is one of my favorite songs and it makes me more| relaxed. The other thing I suggest is making sure that you have everything ready before you begin your day and that you use your lunch time as a time to try not to talk about school. Use as a time to look around the building. Peek in other teacher's classrooms. Use your student teaching experience as a way to gain ideas. You will want them when you start your own room! me. It is hard to focus on the positives in the afternoon but I try to make sure that the student are moving around in the afternoon, look for their smiles while they are doing activities. It will keep you less stressed.
